The professionalization of public procurement

The professionalization of public procurement through direct communication with the business sector

Business associations subscribing to the Rule of Law Initiative are convinced that transparent and efficient public procurement is a key issue both in terms of ensuring the quality of the business environment and in terms of efficient public finance management.

Slovak Compliance Circle, which is part of the Rule of Law Initiative, together with the representatives of other business associations attended the meeting on 4th February 2019 organized by the Office for Public Procurement (hereinafter „the Office“). Among the other things the Office presented at the meeting changes in public resources management in the common interest, communication that is more open than ever before and its commitment to deal with the requirements of the business environment and to take into account the requirements for further improvements in the field of public procurement.

We appreciate ongoing discussions in which the Rule of Law Entities continues negotiations submitting proposals and approaches to the Office, as we consider public procurement to be one of the pillars of strengthening the rule of law and building quality business environment. We still see space for further actions that can contribute to improvement of public tenders.
